First Assembly began as a Bible study in the apartment of Pastor Joe & Linda Meyer in April of 1992. On June 7th of that same year the church celebrated its first Sunday morning service and began meeting at Indian Oaks Park-Nature Center in Marengo. The church met at the site for 6 years and enjoyed growth-adding childrens ministries on Sunday morning and Wednesdays nights. Between 1996 to August 1998 God blessed First Assembly with 25 acres of land along with a beautiful facility to worship in! Since then, the church has continued to enjoy growth and have added staff to keep up with the mission of reaching out to the community and surrounding area.
